@Alex I haven't read that, but my school was literally designed to look like a prison because the powers that be were terrified of radicalized students rising up and killing them. Everything was designed to demoralize students and keep them from organizing. I had a teacher assign the project of redesigning the campus to be more conducive to learning. He invited one of the heads of the college to evaluate the students' work, and he dismissed everything because it wouldn't protect faculty from student riots. That's when he shared that it was designed to look like a prison to make students submissive, scared, and less capable. 😬
@Alex@goingrampant That sounds…very American, sadly. Nothing like going to a place that is supposed to help prepare you for the rest of your life & them wanting to make you less capable
