Wow. Running PS2 games from an HDD with OPL is *not* trivial.
PS2 games really want to read from a DVD it seems.
If only I could find comprehensive documentation for HDL Dump and OPL.
I'm stringing random info together for those and the hdl_dump GUI programming to see if I can resolve stutters and whatnot.
*Some* games do work without issue, thankfully.

@groovestomp I'm still trying to get my McBoot PS2 to load from HDD, but it is a huge headache far too easily resolved with an emulator.
There's some Windows tool that makes it look easy, but it certainly doesn't work on Wine.
@Alex I had mixed results with pcsx2. Jak and daxter, in particular, had lots of glitches.
There's always physical media. :-)
